Skin treatments
designed around
your skin
No two people's skin is the same, and the treatment someone needs depends on their skin, their concerns and what they would like to achieve. We begin with a consultation and a skin assessment, then recommend. Not the other way round.
In short
What is skin rejuvenation at The Hampton Clinic?
Skin rejuvenation at The Hampton Clinic in Bristol is a considered plan for your skin rather than a single procedure. The clinic works with concerns including ageing, laxity, texture, acne and acne scarring, pigmentation and overall skin health, drawing on HIFU, microneedling, laser resurfacing, Dermalux LED phototherapy and PRP and PRF, individually or in combination.
Every plan begins with a consultation and a skin assessment. Sometimes the recommendation is one treatment, sometimes a combination, and sometimes a different treatment from the one you asked about. Plans are quoted after assessment.

The treatments
Six approaches,
one assessment
before any of them.
HIFU skin tightening
Focused ultrasound to the deeper layers, where laxity, firmness and facial definition are the concern.
Microneedling
Controlled micro channels that stimulate your own repair response, for texture, fine lines, pores and certain scarring.
Laser skin resurfacing
Controlled laser energy to stimulate renewal. Not appropriate for every skin type, so assessed hardest.
Dermalux LED phototherapy
Selected wavelengths of light supporting rejuvenation, recovery and skin health. Non invasive, no downtime.
PRP skin rejuvenation
A concentrated platelet preparation made from a small sample of your own blood.
PRF skin rejuvenation
Platelet rich fibrin, prepared without anticoagulants, forming a natural fibrin matrix.
Pigmentation and melasma
Assessed on its own terms, because what looks the same on the surface can have a different cause underneath.
What we can help with
Whether you are concerned about fine lines, skin laxity, uneven texture, scarring or a general change in the quality and appearance of your skin, our approach is focused on achieving natural looking improvements while maintaining the character of your skin.
Our skin rejuvenation treatments are used to address fine lines and signs of skin ageing, loss of firmness and skin laxity, uneven skin texture, acne scarring and other textural concerns, enlarged pores, dull or tired looking skin, uneven skin tone, and general skin quality and rejuvenation.
The most appropriate treatment depends on your individual skin and on the concern being addressed. If pigmentation is your main concern, it deserves its own assessment, and there is a separate page on pigmentation and melasma.
HIFU skin tightening
HIFU, high intensity focused ultrasound, is a non surgical treatment designed to target deeper layers beneath the skin using focused ultrasound energy.
It can be used where skin laxity, loss of firmness and facial definition are concerns, supporting a gradual tightening effect without surgery.
Because the changes develop over time, HIFU is particularly suited to patients looking for a non surgical approach to improving firmness and contour rather than an immediate or artificial looking change.
Microneedling
Microneedling uses controlled micro channels within the skin to stimulate the skin's natural repair response.
It can be used to improve skin texture, fine lines, enlarged pores and certain types of scarring, including acne scarring, while supporting collagen production and overall skin quality.
Treatment depth and approach can be adjusted according to the area being treated and to your individual skin concerns, which is part of why it sits in so many different plans.
Laser skin resurfacing
Laser skin resurfacing uses controlled laser energy to target the skin and stimulate renewal.
It can be used to address concerns including uneven texture, fine lines, scarring and areas of uneven pigmentation, depending on suitability.
Laser treatment is not appropriate for every skin type or every concern, which is why consultation and skin assessment matter particularly here. Getting this one wrong is worse than not treating at all, and we would rather recommend something else.
Dermalux LED phototherapy
Dermalux LED phototherapy uses selected wavelengths of light to support different processes within the skin.
It can be used to support skin rejuvenation, recovery and overall skin health, either as a treatment in its own right or alongside other skin procedures where appropriate. It is non invasive and requires no downtime.
PRP and PRF skin rejuvenation
PRP, platelet rich plasma, uses a concentrated preparation produced from a small sample of your own blood. Once prepared, the platelet rich plasma is introduced into targeted areas of the skin, where naturally occurring platelets and growth factors are used to support the skin's repair and regenerative processes.
PRF, platelet rich fibrin, is another platelet based treatment prepared from your own blood. PRF is prepared without anticoagulants and forms a natural fibrin matrix containing platelets and other naturally occurring components involved in tissue repair and cellular signalling.
Either can be incorporated into a skin rejuvenation plan where the aim is to improve overall skin quality, texture and appearance. Which one, if either, is determined during consultation.
A treatment plan built around you
We do not believe that one treatment is the answer to every skin concern.
Your consultation allows us to assess your skin, understand what is bothering you and discuss what you would realistically like to achieve. From there we recommend the treatment, or the combination of treatments, we believe is most appropriate.
In some cases improving the skin means addressing more than one concern. One treatment may focus on texture while another supports firmness or overall skin quality. The aim is not to perform as many treatments as possible. It is to create a considered plan around what your skin actually needs.
Your consultation
Your treatment journey begins with a consultation and skin assessment. We discuss your concerns, previous treatments, relevant history and what you would like to achieve. Your practitioner can then explain the options available, what each treatment can realistically address, and the treatment journey to expect.
If we do not believe a particular treatment is suitable for you, we will recommend an alternative where appropriate rather than proceeding simply because it was the treatment you originally enquired about.

Compared
Six approaches, one
question each time:
what are we treating?
| Treatment | What it uses | Most often used for | How the change arrives |
|---|---|---|---|
| HIFU | Focused ultrasound to deeper layers | Skin laxity, loss of firmness, facial definition | Gradually, over time, rather than immediately |
| Microneedling | Controlled micro channels in the skin | Texture, fine lines, enlarged pores, acne scarring | Through the skin's own repair response |
| Laser resurfacing | Controlled laser energy | Uneven texture, fine lines, scarring, uneven pigmentation | Through renewal, where suitability allows |
| Dermalux LED | Selected wavelengths of light | Rejuvenation, recovery, overall skin health | Non invasive, no downtime, often alongside others |
| PRP | A platelet preparation from your own blood | Overall skin quality, texture and appearance | Through your own repair and regenerative processes |
| PRF | A fibrin matrix from your own blood, no anticoagulants | Overall skin quality within a regenerative plan | Through your own repair and signalling processes |
None of these is chosen from a list. Which one applies to you, whether a combination would serve you better, and in what order, is decided by your consultation and skin assessment.

Questions
Before
you book.
What skin treatments does The Hampton Clinic offer?
HIFU skin tightening, microneedling, laser skin resurfacing, Dermalux LED phototherapy, and PRP and PRF skin rejuvenation. Which of them is appropriate, and whether more than one is, follows from a consultation and skin assessment rather than from a menu.
What is HIFU skin tightening?
HIFU, high intensity focused ultrasound, is a non surgical treatment that targets deeper layers beneath the skin using focused ultrasound energy. It is used where skin laxity, loss of firmness and facial definition are concerns, and the change develops gradually rather than immediately.
Can microneedling help acne scarring?
Microneedling creates controlled micro channels in the skin to stimulate its natural repair response. It can be used to improve skin texture, fine lines, enlarged pores and certain types of scarring including acne scarring, while supporting collagen production. Depth and approach are adjusted to the area and to your skin.
Is laser skin resurfacing right for everyone?
No, and that is why consultation matters. Laser resurfacing uses controlled laser energy to target the skin and stimulate renewal, and it can address uneven texture, fine lines, scarring and areas of uneven pigmentation. It is not appropriate for every skin type or every concern, so suitability is assessed before it is recommended.
What is Dermalux LED phototherapy?
Dermalux LED phototherapy uses selected wavelengths of light to support different processes within the skin. It can be used to support rejuvenation, recovery and overall skin health, either on its own or alongside other procedures. It is non invasive and requires no downtime.
What is the difference between PRP and PRF for skin?
Both are prepared from a small sample of your own blood. PRP, platelet rich plasma, is a concentrated platelet preparation introduced into targeted areas of the skin. PRF, platelet rich fibrin, is prepared without anticoagulants and forms a natural fibrin matrix containing platelets and other components involved in tissue repair and cellular signalling. Suitability for either is determined at consultation.
Do I need to know which treatment I want before booking?
No. Most people arrive describing a concern rather than requesting a procedure, and that is the more useful way round. Your consultation establishes what is bothering you, what is realistically achievable and which treatment, or combination, is appropriate.
What if the treatment I asked about is not suitable?
We will say so, and recommend an alternative where appropriate, rather than proceeding simply because it was the treatment you originally enquired about.
